The Shrine

The Diocese Shrine dedicated to Mary Queen of Peace was built in the year 2000 through the help of the Christian faithful.

The site itself is naturally an attraction where God’s work of art clearly manifested. Balancing rocks and stone bells as well as the topographical terrain makes it one of the natural attractions in the diocese.
 

It was blessed on the 13th of August 2000, by the Rt Rev. Bishop Michael Bhasera at the Eucharistic Congress of the Jubilee year that attracted a total of more than two thousand people from all over the diocese, a clear indicator that the place was going to be a place of spiritual solace not only for the local people but people from other places as well. From that time onwards the Diocese started meeting at the Shrine for some Diocesan events, but they also visit the Shrine as individual, families, parishes or deaneries for spiritual solace.
